About ICT Essentials Courses

At the end of each ICT Essentials course, students at the advanced level have the opportunity to earn an ICT Digital Tool Certificate by passing a final exam, proving mastery of the ICT Essentials topic. For students at beginning and intermediate levels, the provided assessments can be used to determine readiness for the final certificate exam at the teacher's discretion.

In addition to the material found in the coursebook, students can visit the ICT Online portal to help them master the ICT course material and prepare for the ICT certification exam. ICT Online provides a variety of online tools that supplement the Official ICT Courseware.

The supplemental files may include:

  • Demonstration Videos – Informative videos demonstrating important topics in the course.

  • Links to Learn More – Links to 3rd party Web sites students can go to to learn more about a topic.

  • Suggested Activities – Online, hands-on, team and teacher-led activities to supplement learning.

  • Case Studies – Hands-on exercises to supplement learning.

  • Lesson Quizzes – Online and hands-on versions for teachers to assign at the end of each lesson.

Handout versions of suggested activities, case studies and lesson quizzes can be printed and assigned during class or as homework.

The instructor sections and supplemental files include answers to activities, case studies and lesson quizzes.

The supplemental files also include an Objective Matrix listing the certification exam objectives and locations of corresponding material in the coursebook.
